CareNet Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsuhiro Fujii; URL: https://www.carenet.co.jp; hereafter CareNet) will commence the pharmaceutical information platform service, “DI Plus” (DI = Drug Information), from October 2024 as part of its “Pharmaceutical DX Business” to support the appropriate dissemination of pharmaceutical products by pharmaceutical companies.
DI Plus is a new drug information platform service that enables doctors to seamlessly access and comprehensively collect information about new drugs from pharmaceutical companies (e.g., basic product information, inserts, interview forms, product description videos, lecture information, and patient materials).
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, many conferences and lectures have shifted to web-based formats, and many doctors have started actively obtaining the latest medical information via the Internet, including web-based lectures. However, opportunities for physical interviews between pharmaceutical company MRs and doctors have continued to decline, and doctors can no longer passively obtain drug information from MRs, as was the case in the past.
In addition, drug information required by physicians is mainly posted on the websites of pharmaceutical companies. To obtain this information, they must visit the websites of individual pharmaceutical companies. Furthermore, some content other than basic product information requires membership registration, which is inconvenient for doctors using the site.
CareNet has thus far developed services, such as “MR Plus,” for its physician members to deepen their understanding of and interest in pharmaceuticals. MR Plus provides relevant information from pharmaceutical companies as well “Web Lectures,” organized by them; these are live lectures by KOLs from various medical departments. A survey conducted by CareNet showed that 77.5% of doctors wanted to use webpage that summarize basic and up-to-date information on each drug. Therefore, we built DI Plus, a platform providing comprehensive information on medicines, that can be accessed seamlessly from MR Plus and Web Lectures by doctors seeking information.
It will also be possible to guide physicians from DI Plus to the pharmaceutical companies’ information websites in case they desire more detailed information.
In addition to DI Plus, which enables seamless access to pharmaceutical information, and MR Plus, an IT solution that connects doctors and pharmaceutical companies, CareNet will continue to expand its functions and services to provide solutions that meet the needs of both doctors and pharmaceutical companies better than ever before.
